NEW YORK
The Association formation plan took place on Dec. 31st, 1988. On the 5thof March 1989, an inauguration took place at Bronx Community College. The aim of the Association is to create a harmonious and social atmosphere necessary for the welfare of our citizens
Initially, we had about ten members, therefore our meetings were held at the residence of our late founding member Dacosta Osei Mensah in The Bronx. Eventually our membership increased substantially, therefore we moved to the Harlem State Building in Manhattan. A few years later due to time restrictions we moved to the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence Yirenkyi in the Bronx where we still hold our meetings.
Achievements
We have been helping our members on occasions like weddings, funerals, birthdays and different activities morally and financially.
Also in terms of the Brong-Ahafo Region, we have donated money to Sunyani Hospital, Medical equipment and clothing to Berekum Hospital as well as cash to Dorma Ahenkro to help buy a mortuary refrigerator. We intend helping in other areas as time goes on.
